What Is WeBirthEmpowered

A movement to put women back at the center of their own birth.

WeBirthEmpowered was created by Dr. Delisa Skeete Henry — an OB/GYN and department chair who saw too many women walk into the most important moment of their lives without the information they needed. This is her answer to that.

We're not anti-doctor. We're not anti-hospital. We're pro-you — knowing your options, trusting your body, and owning every choice as your own.

Educate

We break down real medical information in plain language — so you walk into every appointment with clarity, not confusion.

Empower

Knowledge without confidence doesn't change outcomes. We give you the words, the questions, and the self-belief to advocate for the birth you want.

Advocate

From breech birth to birth plans to asking the right questions — every woman deserves a provider who listens and a voice that's heard.

The Podcast

Honest conversations about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum β€” new episodes on breech birth dropping this month.

Meet Dr. Delisa

She's spent her career making sure women feel heard in the room.

Before anything else, she's a mom who believes every woman deserves to walk into birth informed, calm, and in control. She also happens to be a board-certified OB/GYN and department chair who's spent her career in the delivery room — including bringing back a skill too many providers have lost: vaginal breech birth.
